Are blue tongue lizards effective at keeping snakes at bay?

As one of the most common reptiles in Australia, blue tongue lizards offer a valuable pest control service to your house by controlling snails, caterpillars, insects, and other pests around your home.

Generally, they are not known to keep snakes away, but they are known to catch young snakes, however, adult snakes are known to eat adult blue tongue lizards in their adult phase. Those snakes are brown snakes, black snakes, and tiger snakes.

Due to their size as well as their defensive behavior, Blue Tongue Lizards may have the ability to deter some snakes, but they have not been known to keep all snakes away.
